Dog Re-Homing
This program is designed for those who must re-home their dog but have the ability to continue housing and caring for their dog while we search for the perfect adopter.
To quality for this program you must:
-
Agree to house and care for your dog until we can find an adopter (you are your own foster home)
-
Your dog must be spayed or neutered. If your dog is not already spayed/neutered you can opt to have it done at our spay/neuter center. You will be responsible for the full cost but we can reimburse you up to 50% once an adopter is found.
-
You must have your dog vaccinated against rabies and your dog must be heartworm negative. A vet record must be provided to confirm a current rabies vaccine and negative heartworm test. We can test your dog for heartworms for $25 to be paid at the evaluation if needed.
-
You must be willing to bring your dog in for an evaluation where we will test for aggression and personality. If any sign of aggression is found your dog will not be allowed into the program.
-
You must be willing to attend meetings with potential adopters.
We ask that you be realistic about our abilities to help you re-home your dog. Larger and older dogs will take longer to find homes for and some may not be able to be placed. Also, any dog that shows aggression will not be allowed into the program. We pride ourselves on making safe matches.
