Part Time Adoption Counselor

We are looking for a detail-oriented and motivated individual who is excited to make a difference in the lives of animals and people alike. Must be extremely reliable, able to work independently, and truly care about animals' welfare. Customer service and animal care experience required.

Our ideal Adoption Counselor will have extensive cat care experience and knowledge, high animal care standards, excellent listening and communication skills, and keen attention to detail.

Job Summary

• Provide daily care for animals at Adoption Outreach Center (AOC)
• Including physical examination, cage cleaning, giving vaccinations, administering medications, grooming, handling
  
• Provide daily maintenance for AOC facilities
  
• Assist customers visiting the AOC and considering adoption
  
• Assist adopters selecting an appropriate pet for their family
• Answer pet care and behavior questions
  

Qualifications
High school diploma
Excellent customer service skills needed; must be tactful and compassionate in dealing with customers and able to direct volunteers
Must have some cat care experience; veterinary technician experience helpful but not required Must be able to lift 25lbs, 50lbs with assistance, and be able to work in an environment that includes cats, rabbits, birds, other small animals, dust, and cleaning solutions
Must be available on some holidays
Weekends required

Compensation
Starting pay is $7-$8 hour. Benefits for regular PT employees include health insurance, 401k, paid vacation and holidays.
