Cocoa Kitty Warms Up and Cuddles Up in her Forever Home

December 10, 2012

Cocoa Kitty was adopted this fall after waiting for a home for several months. You see, she was a special cat in that she needed to find a home where should could be the only pet, so she had to wait for the right person to fall in love with her. Shannon saw Cocoa Kitty in the Adoption Center, and she realized that her home would be perfect since she doesn't have any other animals... and she didn't want Cocoa Kitty to keep watching all the kittens come to the Adoption Center and be adopted while she waited for someone to choose her.

When Shannon took Cocoa Kitty home, she found out that Cocoa was much more affectionate than she initially thought she would be. Her plan was to give Cocoa a quiet home where she could be herself and live out her golden years.  But she was pleasantly surprised to find that Cocoa had been just waiting for the right home to bring out her real personality! Cocoa loves to sit Shannon's lap, and she sleeps in bed with her all night.

Cocoa Kitty had been adopted before coming back to AAHS because her previous owners said she was grumpy and unfriendly. It really goes to show that you have to choose your new fury family member based on their personality and their specific needs to make the right fit for a your home as well as their's, and Shannon did just that with Cocoa! Thank you, Shannon, for giving Cocoa Kitty a third chance and letting her rule the roost! I'm sure she thanks you, too, with her kitty cuddle time.

If you think your home would be a good fit for a special needs pet, stop by our Adoption Center or Zeus House Shelter to talk to our staff about our current special cats and dogs who are looking for their perfect match.
