Fall in Love: Fall Multi-shelter Adoption Event
September 30, 2012
The Fall in Love adoption event has been changed to October 13 due to inclement weather for September 8.
The Athens Area Humane Society presents its second multi-shelter pet adoption event, Fall in Love, on Saturday, October 13, 2012 at Sam’s Club (4365 Atlanta Hwy, Bogart, GA 30622) from 11:00am to 4:00pm. Participating shelters with adoptable dogs and cats include: Athens Area Humane Society, Athens-Clarke County Animal Control, Circle of Friends, Oconee County Animal Control, Oconee Regional Humane Society, Pound Puppies and Kittens, and Walton Animal Guild. As local animal welfare organizations, our mission to lower the area’s euthanasia rates and to adopt homeless animals to new, loving homes has brought us together for a common cause as partners for this event.
This is a great opportunity to mingle with potential furry family members from several different organizations, so you’re sure to find at least one that you will fall in love with! We will have dogs of all sizes and cats of all colors who are looking to find forever homes—they want to fall in love with you as much as you want to fall in love with them! Our goal for the Fall in Love pet adoption event is to adopt 35 dogs and cats to new forever homes.
If you’re not looking to adopt, you should still come out because the Athens Area Humane Society will have fun carnival-style activities for kids, food from Your Pie, Doodle the Clown, homemade dog treats, B&G Seed locally-made dog food samples, Dogs Deserve Better informational booth, and more! Each carnival ticket is $1, and most carnival games and activities only require one ticket. This is a great way to help raise money for the animals and have fun at the same time!
Make sure to mark your calendars so you don’t miss out on this fun-filled day to support the animals!
ATTENTION POTENTIAL ADOPTERS:
To make it easier for potential adopters to take home animals the day of the event, please complete a Meet Your Match survey (Dog Survey or Cat Survey), have records of your current pets' up-to-date rabies vaccinations, and proof that your home is pet-friendly (proof of home ownership or current lease agreement that states that pets are allowed in your home). If you're thinking of adopting a pet, please bring these documents with you to the event to make same day adoptions faster and easier!
