05/21/13: Callie is the Adoptable Cat of the Week!
As one AAHS Volunteer put it, "Callie is
quite a little lady." She is very
feminine, gentle, and trusting. While not terribly
interested in playing, Callie adores being adored. With the
proper introductions, Callie would probably be compatible
with most families including those with children, cats, or
dogs.

05/21/13: Winston is the Adoptable Dog of the Week!
Winston was adopted from Oconee County Animal Control two
years ago, but his owners brought him back because they
couldn't care for him. Winston is such a
sweet man. He is about 5 years old and currently weighs 25
pounds. He is great with other dogs, cats and people of all
ages. Winston does pull a little on his leash, but his foster
mom is working on it and Winston is responding well to his
training. If you are looking for a laid back, sweet man in
your life, Winston is your guy.

05/13/13: Dabney is the Adoptable Cat of the Week!
Our demure Dabney might come off as more of a wallflower
than the belle of the ball, but that
doesn’t make her any less of princess!
Dabney came from a home with at least 14 other cats and had
to develop some creative skills just to survive. This dark
beauty needs a home where she feels secure and loved. This
means she would most like do best in a quiet home without
other animals. She has also put in a request for a warm lap

05/06/13: Doug is the Adoptable Dog of the Week!
Doug is part of the AAHS re-homing program. His previous
owners left him outside a vet office because they
couldn't afford to take care of him.
Doug has a great temperament and loves to play. He knows
how to sit, he walk great on a leash, he's almost
housebroken, and his foster mom is working with him to
learn other basic commands. We believe he is 3 to 4 months
old and will be a large dog when fully grown. Doug is great

05/06/13: Dawn is the Adoptable Cat of the Week!
As fresh as a new day and with a chirp reminiscent of a
bird greeting the morning sun, Dawn truly lives up to her
name. This sweet, petite girl is like a warm ray of
sunshine playfully dancing through the fresh green leaves
of a tree. While a touch timid at first, Dawn would
probably do well in just about any home. Please
don't let another sun go down while
she's still in a cage. Take this kitty
home now...

04/29/13: Terry Funk is the Adoptable Dog of the Week!
Terry Funk was originally picked up by animal control along
with his brother, who has already been adopted. He was
adopted from us a few weeks ago, but was brought back through
no fault of his own. Terry Funk's previous family also had a
toddler who was having some trouble interacting with Terry in
a gentle manner, so his family decided it was best for him to
find a new home. He is a great little guy who already knows
some basic commands from being in his foster home!
Due to the stress of going from...

04/29/13: Cindy is the Adoptable Cat of the Week!
While the chances of finding an orange tabby female are
around 20%, the chance of falling head over heals in love
with Cindy is 100%! This petite rarity is a true gem of a
cat. She's affectionate and well-mannered,
but she also has no problem letting you know exactly what she
wants. And what Cindy wants right now is a low stress
environment and people who will dote on her. She has lived
with other cats but prefers any potential co-kitty-habitators
to be docile and unobtrusive.
Cindy's Feline-ality is Leader of...

Peanut was brought to animal control because his owner could
no longer care for him. He is such a sweet, lovable, silly
little guy. Currently he is about 2 years old and weighs 35

to play with toys. He would prefer to interact with a person
than toys. He is great with other dogs, walks right past cats
and would be a great addition to any family. Peanut is
housebroken, crate-trained, and walks great on a leash.
Though he can be a little shy at first, it just takes one

04/22/13: Dale is the Adoptable Cat of the Week!
Dale is a such a handsome boy! This sweet 5-year-old was
surrendered to Clarke County Animal Control along with 13
other cats. He is very friendly and outgoing. Dale enjoys
sitting on your lap and snuggling if he can climb there by
himself... in other words, he's not a huge fan of being
picked up or carried around. Dale enjoys playing with
interactive toys such as feather wands. This kitty also
enjoys talking but isn't overly noisy. He just wants to
