vital program at AAHS.
Foster families provide a warm and loving environment for animals
waiting for space at our adoption center or animals that need some

Advocates
|
Help share our
mission and services with the public, increase the public’s
awareness of animal welfare issues, and educate them on how they
can help by attending local events, running informational booths,
and educating at schools and throughout the community.

Clerical Assistant
Locations: Intake Shelter and Spay/Neuter

Assist staff with
administrative duties such as computer entry, answering phones,
filing, making copies, etc.

Program Assistant
|
Basic duties
include: recruiting businesses and individuals to participate in
the recycling program, collecting print cartridges from friends,
family, your workplace, and your apartment building or
neighborhood; collecting items from participating businesses,
package ink cartridges for shipping and ship box to recycling
company or taking the cans to the recycling center.
|
Your own truck or
van would be needed to transport the aluminum cans.

Adoption
Follow-Up Caller
|
Help us stay in
contact with our adopters and ensure a happy transition with their
new pet. Phone calls
may be made in your own time and your home. Simply fill out the response form
during your phone consult. Volunteers will need to report to
the Adoption Center to retreive adopter's information.

Transporter

This position
involves transporting animals to and from their spay/neuter
appointments.
Volunteers will sign up for one day a week.

Street Team
|
Help collect money
from donation jars, refill brochures, distribute flyers, post event
posters, and basically help spread our mission throughout the
community. Volunteers
will be responsible for at least one location of their
choosing.

Events Volunteer
|
The primary
function of this position is to raise money for AAHS. You will assist staff with
special event fundraisers such as Bingo, yard sales, Pictures with
Santa, etc.

Grounds Keeping/

|
Help keep
the grounds looking their best. This includes pruning bushes,
weeding, planting flowers, pooper scooping, collecting trash, or
using any other skills to help improve the overall appearance of the shelter
and spay/neuter center.

Repair/ Improvement
Specialist Locations: Intake
Shelter and Spay/Neuter Center
|
Work independently
on small jobs inside and outside the shelter and the spay/neuter
center.

Experience in
plumbing, electric, painting, carpentry, etc.

Graphic
Designer
|
Design and
facilitate production of newsletters, posters, flyers, pamphlets,
invitations, t-shirts, and other promotional materials.
