All AAHS volunteers must:
AAHS reserves the right to do reference checks on all new volunteers. Volunteers between the ages of 12 and 18 must have the written consent of a parent of guardian prior to volunteering. If you are under 12 years old, there are still a lot of things you can do to help the animals. Click here for some ideas. Once the right volunteer job has been found for you, we will schedule the appropriate training classes for your position. Each position does require a minimum monthly commitment, as well as a minimum hourly commitment for those months. If unable to fulfill that commitment, volunteers should contact the Special Projects Manager and reschedule. STEP 2: Volunteer Orientation Quiz
To ensure everyone has completed the volunteer orientation,
everyone must complete the volunteer orientation quiz. You
will receive a code when you receive a perfect score. Be sure
to remember it so you can enter it on your volunteer application.
STEP 3: Volunteer Application Be sure you have watched the volunteer orientation and taken the quiz BEFORE completing the application. You will receive a code to enter on your application to show you have completed the quiz. The volunteer application gives us an opportunity to get to know you better and what your interests are when it comes to helping animals. You will also note your availabilty and any special skill or talents you will bring to our organization. You will receive an email within 2-3 days to notify you that we received your application and what your next steps will be to become a volunteer. If training is needed for the position you are interested in, we will help you get started. Click here for the application if you are 18 years of age or older. |
